Voting members present: Urton Anderson, Diane Beckham, Brian Ferguson, Michael Hoffman, Jonathan Lee, Jef Richards, Shawn Rosenzweig, Rusty Todd, Doug Toney.

Voting members absent: Coleman Lewis, Daniel Parker.

Non-voting members present: Teresa Brett, Jason Hunter, Kathy Lawrence, Ryan Pittman, Chris Tolle.

Non-voting members absent: Meredith Best, Alex Hammond, Ryan Hengst, Trevor Rosen, Rachel Zoch.

Professional staff present: Mary Felps, Richard Finnell, Jerry Thompson.

Visitors present: Kris Banks, Remi Bello, Alicia Dietrich, Brandi Grissom, Nicolas Martinez, Stephanie Meyers, P. Ryan Petkoff, Lucy Quintanilla, Casey Zertuche.

The meeting was called to order at 3:30 p.m. by TSP Board President Michael Hoffman.

I. Appointment of summer 2003 Daily Texan managing editor.

Hoffman reported four applicants were to be considered including Ademola [Remi] Olureno Bello, Brandi Lee Grissom, P. Ryan Petkoff, and Casey Elizabeth Zertuche. Further, Hoffman said each applicant would have five minutes to address the members of the Board in open session and each applicant’s individual interview, to be held in executive session, would not exceed 20 minutes. Bello, Grissom, Petkoff, and Zertuche addressed the members of the Board concerning their respective applications and plans for the summer issues of The Daily Texan.

As there were no requests from the public to comment on the applicants, Hoffman adjourned the general meeting in order to convene an executive session meeting. Following the executive session, Hoffman re-convened the general meeting.

MOTION NO. 2: Toney moved to appoint P. Ryan Petkoff managing editor of The Daily Texan for the

summer 2003. The motion passed.

MOTION NO. 3: Ferguson moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed.
